COVID-19 pandemic – CANCELLATION POLICY UPDATE

1st December 2021

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL BANS

With little evidence to support that the Omicron variant has its origins in Southern Africa, we remain hopeful that the current travel bans will be short-lived. We remain open for business and continue to follow strict COVID-19 protocols.

Further cancellations on top of what our industry has already gone through since March 2020 is having a huge impact on our business and our team. Postponement of your stay without penalty at the same 2021/2022 rate is our preferred way forward. We can gladly move your booking dates (subject to availability, of course) or issue you with a travel voucher to redeem when there is more clarity about the way forward and you have alternative travel dates. You are most welcome to “wait & see” as to what transpires over the next few weeks and only amend any bookings closer to your planned travel dates.

We do, however, understand that future travel may be difficult for our international guests, so we will consider each booking individually. We continue to recommend that all our guests take out comprehensive travel insurance when booking a holiday.

We would appreciate it if you would consider an outright cancellation and a refund request as a last resort. While the terms of our standard Cancellation Policy do specify that Ndaka Safari Lodge reserves the right to issue a voucher for future use and not refund in cash in lieu of cancelled accommodation, we will process refund requests when funds permit, but our standard cancellation fees and conditions would apply.

Our team is on-hand to assist you with booking changes and we hope to welcome you with our Ndaka magic when you are able to enjoy our wide-open spaces. Your future green list safari awaits you.

UPDATED “NEW RATES AND CANCELLATION POLICY” FOR SOUTH AFRICAN GUESTS

We have again had to amend our bookings and cancellation policy to reflect current realities due to the ongoing challenges of COVID-19:

Should a South African visitor wish to postpone a booking, the booking may be amended ONCE to any date within ONE year of their original travel dates without penalty, subject to availability and at the same 2021/2022 rate. Please note that, should the new booking however be in a higher season,
then the higher 2021/2022/2023 rate would apply to “trade up”. Also, should a booking be changed a SECOND time, then that current 2022/2023 rate would apply and the shortfall would need to be paid.

Our standard cancellation fees will, however, apply for any outright cancellations for all South African-based guests, but we ask that you please rather consider postponing.

Cancellations

Cancellation must be in writing by email to stay@ndaka.co.za . Cancellations are subject to the following cancellation fees:

Cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival: 10% of the full accommodation charge

Cancelled 15-30 days prior to arrival: 25% of the full accommodation charge

Cancelled 8-14 days prior to arrival: 50% of the full accommodation charge

Cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival: 75% of the full accommodation charge.

We commit to paying refunds as soon as possible while we do our best to navigate these unprecedented times.

Please note that Ndaka Safari Lodge still reserves the right to issue a voucher for future use and not refund in cash in lieu of cancelled accommodation as per our Standard Cancellations Policy. We also continue to recommend to all our guests that they take out comprehensive travel insurance when booking a holiday.

20th January 2021

We have amended our bookings and cancellation policy to reflect current realities.

The global COVID-19 pandemic has led us to institute the following changes which are applicable to bookings for stays between 15th March 2020 & 31st August 2021 only.

Should a South African visitor wish to postpone a booking, the booking may be amended to any date before 30th November 2021, subject to availability and at the same 2020/1 rate. Please note that, should the new booking be in a higher season, then the higher 2021 rate will apply to “trade up”.

Our standard cancellation fees will, however, apply for outright cancellations after 31st May 2021 for all South African-based guests, but we ask that you please rather consider postponing.

We understand that future travel may be difficult for our international guests, so we will consider each booking individually.
